Pete began his career with the Lou Fusz Soccer Club in 1992 when he joined the club’s first team. Pete earned all-state honors while at Chaminade, and participated in both the Olympic Development Program and the Adidas Elite Soccer Program.  Pete continued his soccer career as a Georgetown Hoya. After college, Pete worked his way up to Vice President of the Lou Fusz Automotive Network; while simultaneously donating his time as the President of the Lou Fusz Soccer Club. It is Pete’s mission to teach young athletes the power of a positive attitude and the value of teamwork, which he has seen first hand. Pete has a passion for helping the children of St. Louis get the best experience possible by learning soccer skills, and more importantly life skills, that will help them succeed after the sport.

Dan Gargan

Dan Gargan

General Manager of Lou Fusz Athletic
Dan grew up in Philadelphia, attending Chestnut Hill Academy where he was a 12x Varsity Letter winner. Heading south for college, Gargan attended Georgetown University in the Big East and was twice named Captain & MVP of the soccer team. Leaving college early, Dan began his 12-year professional career being drafted by the Colorado Rapids. He went on to play in over 200 professional games, highlighted by two Canadian Championships with Toronto FC and a MLS Cup championship in 2014 with the LA Galaxy. Since his retirement as a player, he has stayed active at the highest levels of the game, working as a MLS color analyst with Fox Sports. A firm believer in continuing education, Dan recently completed the USSF National B License and will be moving on to the A at first convenience. Dan’s experience at all levels of the game in this country provide Lou Fusz Athletic with great leadership and a vision for this club to continue to prosper and evolve.

Don Popovic

Don “Pops” Popovic

Director of Lou Fusz Soccer
Don Popovic, alongside Lou Fusz Jr., started the Lou Fusz Soccer Club in 1992. His incredible soccer career dates back to 1958, when he began playing in Yugoslavia. A decorated European career & a strong passion for the game led him to the United States where he continued on to play for the St. Louis Stars, Kansas City Spurs, Toronto White Eagles, and the Canadian National Team. After retiring in 1974, Don went on to become one of the winningest coaches in the MISL and coached the Toronto Eagles to a Canadian National Soccer League Championship. He continued to successfully coach numerous professional teams and in 2004 was recognized and inducted in to the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame. His experience provides the club with great insight and his efforts as director have directly contributed to the club’s growing success.

David Critchley

David Critchley

Technical Director-Lou Fusz Athletic
David comes to LFA with experience playing in both England and the United States. Before coming across the pond, his youth development career was highlighted when playing for the world renown Chelsea Football Club. Coming to the States for college, Critchley was a two-time captain at Oklahoma Wesleyan College while studying to get his BA in Exercise Science Management & a Masters in Business Administration; Marketing. As his playing career came to a close, his desire to stay in the game led him to continue directly to coaching. His involvement in the coaching ranks includes both high-school and college, while also leading top ECNL teams with his former club. In addition to his extensive coaching background, David holds an NSCAA Premier License, a USSF National B license, USYS National Youth license, is certified in FA Level 2 coaching, and has led coaching education and development programs. David’s extensive and diverse experience will greatly help the club as we continue to take steps forward to achieve our goals.
