St. Louis native Mike Ambersley will be joining the club as our Director of Player Development & Identification for the Lou Fusz Blue Star Development Program.

Ambersley is one of the most accomplished soccer players that St. Louis has produced in recent memory. Mike has found success at every level; representing the US Youth National program, starring in college, and having had a long and distinguished career at the professional ranks.

Starting in high school at De Smet Jesuit, he was named NSCAA and Parade All-American and the Missouri State Player of the Year in 2000. He continued on at Indiana University where he won back to back NCAA Championships in 2003 and 2004. Following that success, he was drafted in 2006 by FC Dallas of MLS. While his professional career would see him don 7 different jerseys for clubs across the US, his first minutes belong to the Rochester Rhinos. He struck gold in 2012 with the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL, winning a championship and being named to the NASL Best XI Team. Mike was also the first ever signing for his hometown club St. Louis FC in 2015, making 50 appearances for the club and just recently retiring after the 2016 season.

Mike has been coaching, training, and working in the youth development space alongside his playing career, most recently with the Development Academy teams at SLSG during his time with FC St. Louis.

Mike is committed to bringing a professional approach to the development of our soccer players at Lou Fusz Soccer Club.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”4038″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
